Photographer’s Note
Although this isn't the exact same photo as the original post, it was so similar that I couldn't justify a new post. Besides, the original had some major JPEG artifact issues, which I wanted to correct anyway.
Upper Waterton Lake at sunrise. What a beautiful morning it was. Nobody around. This shot was taken shortly after the original (note the difference in cloud position) and the log is a bit to the left, but otherwise it's identical. I used Photoshop to edit and compress it, and used the "Fill" handlebar to bring out some of the detail a bit better. The better compression avoided the JPEG artifacts (as far as I can tell).
For me there's no better place on earth than the wild corridor that runs through Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, and southern Alberta.

Ola Clark ,

Well Clark,
I haven't seen the previous post but I sure do like this one. Colors and sharpness as fine and the composition is well-balanced with this shore line guiding us to the background. I'm always keen on those wide-angle sceneries and yours definitely works for me.

Hi Clark,
I was staying too short here to enjoy the real essence of this wonderful park. Lack of time and a tight schedule forced me to move further north. But seeing the pictures from your hand from this place i surly missed somthing. I love not only the light here, but most of all your composition with the shoreline who leads us right to that very colourful mountain with great light on it. And with a great sky on top, what more can we ask for....great piece of work..!!!
Have a nice weekend,
Henk

Great job. The POV and composition are great. Added benefit is the color achived with the sunrise, plus the bonus of the log echoeing the color in good balance. The horizon is straight, basically a flawless image! J. R.

Hi Clark
A very nice composition with the colour in the log balances out the sunlit mountain.

Hi Clark,
well this is for sure a very nice one! You did pretty well if I compare it to the original, light here is beautiful and soft, colors are wonderful and quality is a lot better than in the original (which is also a lovely one). I like your compo with the branch in the foreground and everything is perfectly sharp. Beautiful, simply beautiful!
Take care
Mark

Hi, Clark.
Outstanding vertical framing, with shoreline and light management playing a major role in this classic landscape. Love the overall balance and the feeling of calmness that permeates the view... excellent one, buddy! Have a nice weekend, I'll be seeing you.

hello Clark
Impressive color tone of the mountain glowing in the light and composing the vertial format to show the pebble stones on the shoreline as a introduction to the view. The log in the water is a good match for the mountain color. I find the streak of white clouds to contrast very nicely with your CPL-enhanced blue sky tone. Obviously the CPL also avoids the reflection of the water and allows the stones to be slightly visible. Good work.

I really like the title :)
I also like the vertical format that emphasises the perspective and literally draws the eye into the scene. the log works well to emphasise the direction, as well as to fill the background that otherwise would look a little empty. but what I like best is the light, the burning golden red on illuminating the mountain, it's a dream of every landscape photographer. superb work, I like it a lot.
best,
Kristine
