Hi Noel,
great close-up of this red squirrel. You really isolated it from it's surroundings, well done. The sharpness on the animal is magnicificent, as should be. Good exposure too. The DOF is fine, as is the composition.
I would suggest only, cropping of the right 1,5-2 cm, the out of focus yellowish branch does disturb me, same for the branch in the far left. By cropping it so you would get a landscape shape, you can also try to make it a bit panoramic. I think it would work fine. Maybe I'll try a workshop for you tomorrow, I'm not at home now and don't have the software here.
Further the shot is very nice, keep it up like that.
