Photographer’s Note
When I drive to Waterton or Glacier I always pass by these windmills. Yesterday I passed when some thunderstorms were bulding and composed this one. The thundershowers were generating some wind, so the windmils were doing their thing.
One of the fastest growing ways to produce energy is windpower. Southern Alberta is one of the windiest places in the world, and so windfarms have been springing up recently. This one is located near the town of McGrath. I have contracted to buy all my energy from wind -- at 7 cents per kilowatt hour. (So no pollution has been caused by the production of these photos!)
To retain the details in the clouds, I underexposed this by a stop (-1.0). I find the same useful with snow and white cloouds.

Hello Mike,
Interesting subject(s)..!
The cloud is awesome, and your equipment handles well to give texture to all the difficult white parts... With some assistance from you, of course!
I like the windmills in this setting, as they are closely connected to weather conditions...
Pleasant colours in a fine composition!

Hi MIke
Nice composition, detail and colours. I love the puffy clouds above the turbines.
We must think alike....I was by McGrath before the May long weekend and took a few photo's of these huge turbines. They are so big. TFS Janice
