Grizzly Territory Photo

Photographer’s Note

The spectacular landscape of Lake Louise attract more than three million visitors a year. However, this beautiful area is also an important travel corridor for the park's grizzly bears.

There are few places in North America where so many people and grizzly bears share the same space and Parks Canada is considering including the village of Lake Louise inside fencing. This would help keep grizzlies out of the village and that's good for both people and bears.

voilà qui change,on a l'habitude de voir ce lac de haut,et là,tu l'as pris au ras de l'eau,ce qui donne une profondeur étonnante!Les couleurs sont toujours aussi belles!Domage qu'on ne voit pas un grizzly!

The rocks in the FG are greatly detailed, good clarity. Beautiful blue water. Lovely v-shaped mountainview in the BG. Fantastic work.

Hello André,

Une très belle vue sur ce lac aux eaux turquoises.
Il est impressionnant de voir la couleur de l'eau.
C'est le véritable premier point d'intérêt de l'image.
Bien vu d'avoir placé cet avant plan de galets.
Il y a une belle ambiance pleine de fraîcheur avec ce lac et la neige que l'on peut admirer sur les sommets.

Une superbe cliché d'un paysage enchanteur avec de belles couleurs, de la netteté et de la luminosité. Beaucoup de profondeur et un très bon 1er plan avec toutes ces pierres. C'est du bon travail.

Salut mon ami,
le titre en dit long, il faut faire gaffe là-bas, ces ours ne rigolent pas.
Un POV au ras des pâquerettes, astucieux et certainement avantageux pour la profondeur de l'image même si elle n'avait pas besoin de cette astuce.
Superbes couleurs bien caractéristiques de ces lacs et un ciel qui me rend jaloux.
Bref, on est en pleine nature....et pas la moindre.

Very good pov, close to the stones. Then the blue of this fantastic lake makes the rest. I think that the cloudy sky helps to create the right light here.

Je reste admirative. Les couleurs sont superbes, le cadrage est léché, avec l'espace qui s'ouvre de belle manière... quel effet! La profusion des obliques: la courbe de la roche, les lignes des arbres, qui convergent vers le fond ainsi que l'avant plan en arrondi des galets construisent l'image de façon dynamique... Profondeur, volumes... une jolie leçon de cadrage. Bravo!

Une photo prise avec un POV très bas, ce qui donne une grande profondeur à l'ensemble. Les couleurs sont très belles et le reflets dans l'eau dessinent un grand V qui s'ajoute aux qualités de l'image.

paysage canadien comme j'aime et rêve de parcourir en rando, sapins qui fleurtent avec l'eau du lac, couleur d'eau émeraude, même si le ciel est orageux le spectacle est magnifique, une PDV avec beaucoup de profondeur

It's a good thing that they have not put up the fence yet, otherwise you would not have been allowed in to get this tranquil image...grizzly bear ;-)
You had a nice low point of view getting in those nice rounded rocks in the foreground which create good interest there, and I like how they start from the corner of the composition, and there is especially that one white rock just in the water which kind of points us into the scene. Beautiful turquoise waters and I like the tiny splash of red colour from the canoes amongst the natural colours of the lakescape. Great depth right up until the furthest mountain.

You know, when I was hiking around here, they warned you left and right that there are bears, some trail, they don't even let you go unless you have a group of 4 people. I was so excited that I was going to see bears, but none, not one, one even bear scrap. Anyway, one of my day here at at Lake Louise look almost like this one, Cloudy with chances of me crying so much it feels like rianing, after so many days of cloudy days.

The color of the lake is just like I have in my memorie so beautiful. I'll go back one day, when you become Governor and granted me citizenship of Canadien.
Je ne parle pas Francaise.

Bonjour André,

Alberta was in my wishlist for my last trip but unfortunalety money and time was not enough. I see a good management of light in this photo. The exposure on the sky was well controlled and the elements were well placed in the frame. The inclusion of the foreground stones enhance the depth and it's a nice start point. Good one!

The word is spectacular, for sure!
Your picture has a classical pov and composition, but they're never too much when "talking" about those mangificent natural spots in Canada!
Sharpness, exposure, dod and colors are all excellent too! A very enjoyable photograph, inviting to go there as soon as I can!
