Sunrise on Mount Baldy Photo

Photographer’s Note

This was one of my best shooting days for me and it all started here,at Barrier Lake in Kananaskis,at sunrise.
Then Wedge Pond followed,and Wedge Pond,and Kananaskis Upper lake and in the end, the cherry on the pie,Mount Indefatigable.
What a day to remember...
This lake is man-made,it is not so beautiful but the surroundings are quite charming.
At the base of Baldy Mountain there use to be a prisoner camp during the World War 2 and sometimes the prisoners were allowed to climb the mountain if they promissed to return to the camp.
Would you return to this awful place?:)

This is close to a breathtaking scene. Nice comp with the thirds and excellent lighting from the morning sun. The clouds and the peak are gorgeous. If I had to pick at it I would say that the sharpening seems overdone on the surface of the water, but I don't have to. Great picture. TFS. Regards, TW

Gorgeous photo. It really makes me want to jump on a plane and head over there!

The colours of this photo are really gorgeous though I find the foreground is a bit bland in comparison with the background. Perhaps it would have been better shot with the horizon in the lower half of the frame rather than the top, to get more sky into the frame. Some straightening wouldn't go astray either.

But besides those two things, it's a wonderful photo. Nice and clear and the lighting is truly beautiful.

A very scenic and beautiful landscape. There is a sense of tilt to the left but I'm not very sure. A smiley anyway although you don't die for one. I did a WS to test it out. Tell me what you think. Regards. Latiff.

Hi Nelu,
I will be here next month and i am really looking forward to it. Roberto gave me some hints how to drive what what to see in this area. If i can catch such great light as you captured here i would be satisfied. the warm glow on sunlight on that mountain and over the hilld is simply wonderful. The foreground is not that interesting, but it's the light on top what gives me a great feeling...!!!
