Photographer’s Note
Mt. Edith Cavell always seems to look so small in most of the pictures I've seen of Jasper National Park, mostly because it's shot with a wide angle reflected in Cavell Lake. I think this shot gives a better idea of how big it is. This is the Cavell Meadows hike near the Angel Glacier at Mt. Edith Cavell. It's a pretty good hike, at least what we saw of it--it was still closed because of snow about halfway up. But we saw a few marmots and lots of wildflowers, so it wasn't a waste of time.
Anybody else struggling with the new TE format? I mean, it's cool and all, but man what a change. I'm sure I'll be used to it eventually.

Wonderful high-altitude hike in the Canadian Rockies. How I miss such views and enjoy seeing yours. The trail beckons! The chill of the overcast sky and the threat of rain is perceptible. Very inviting. Judy
ps. And yes, what's the obsession to improve on perfection? Just when I was getting used to finding my way around, I find it all changed around. Oh well, another learning opportunity, right?

Where's the critiquing thingy? Oh here it is!
Hi Clark!
That is a big hunk o' rock, for certain. I don't even know if I have a photo of it, since when it started snowing up there in September we headed for the Badlands... Our loss, no doubt, but we get enough snow in the winter, didn't want to deal with it on our vacation!
Anyway, cool shot, looks like that was a nice hike, too. The way those clouds look is similar to how I saw Mt. Edith Cavell, too.
This change is definitely a shocker - I didn't even know it was coming, so when I brought TE up I thought I had clicked the wrong favorite! I guess it's ok, but I am old and conservative - what was wrong with the other site design?
Have a great evening!

The light is a bit flat, but I like the composition showing the lush green fields and these wonderful trees with the stark mountain looming above it.

Hi Clark,
A very nice mountain landscape. I like how the pathway leads us into the scene and the overall balance with trees, rocks, pond, and mountains in the background is very good. TFs. Gerald
