Photographer's Note

This hiking trail at Mount Yamnuska leads through a forest of mature trembling aspen. Aspen is North America's most common tree, and although they have very little commercial value they provide valuable animal habitat.

Hello, the leaves are turning already. You captured a nice perspective in your photo with the winding trail leading us deeper into the scene. The eyes on the trees can be so modernistic when gazing at them too long.

Isn`t this a wonderful time of the year? with all the leaves turning beautiful reds, orange and yellow.
I love the colours in this picture being even more prominent with the pale bark of the Aspens.
Also like your P.O.V. with the track taking my eye right into the forest.

Ils sont beaux ces bouleaux.Les couleurs d'automne ajoutent beaucoup à cette composition. Le petit sentier donne de la profondeur.

Hello Kevin - Common they may be but aren't they lovely? Who cares whether or not they have commercial value, there worth is in their beauty. This is a lovely glade, the trunks of the aspen are nicely detailed with the dark markings giving good contrast. The yellowing leaves pretty against the delicate blue sky. i love this autumnal scene. the path is placed perfectly to draw the viewer into the image. the vertical trees create a wonderful repeating pattern, and are a wonderful contrast with the richness of the coloured leaves.

Doesn't this image invite you to take a walk in that autumn scene. it's well worked to bring out the glorious warm colours with all the right elements blended together. Nice how you have brought out the vibrant colors in the leaves and contrast well against the blue sky. A picture that reflects the autumnal feel and tranquility, all in good harmony. The leaves haven't turned here yet, Kevin, but I'm looking forward to scenes like this one when they do. I like how you've built this shot off the path in front, letting the oranges and yellows spread from there.
