Peacocks our native to northern China, the climate in that area is almost identical to that of Edmonton Alberta because it almost paralle but on the other side of the world . Somebody dropped this peacock off in a green belt and is has lived there for several years. Amazingly it has survied with a 4 lane highway a 100 feet away an industrial park on the other side its become very tame and takes handouts from employees and has staring contests with that cats in the building. They can also fly quite well we had got a story from a person about it flying over the building to escape a coyote. At best i was 2 feet away

Update: I had heard from an owner of a shop that they had not seen the bird in sometime and they presume it to have died. I heard this in May of 2007
