Photographer’s Note
I wanted to get a photo of a beautiful Alberta sunrise so I went to this field in the north part of town and waited. Unfortunately, a large cloud was blocking the sun as it came up from the horizon so I turned the camera around in the opposite direction and focused on the interesting patterns & tire marks in the field. The slight white markings in the tire treads is frost as well... It was cold out here!
Contrast, saturation, and color balance altered in Photoshop.

Good shot Doug! I like the way you used the tracks heading down and away into the field to draw our eyes into the scene. I like the delicate lighting, with the soft shades and pastels. Very peaceful!

Hola Doug
Lovely colors, so vivid...
the compo is also good, with the road on the left fading away...
Well seen!

Hi Doug, a wonderful combination of colours. Nice composition too with the tyre marks leading off into the distance. Well worth the effort! Regards, Roberto

doug:
usually clouds are our friend when photoing sunrises, because of the blanket of light it throws over the sky.
thanks for your photo

Good versatility by just moving 90 degrees around and focusing something different than originally planned. It worked out nicely. You seem to be a PS master. I wish I could learn a little bit from you how to achieve all these effects, although I'm kind of a purist. I don't know for sure if you overdid on this one ...
Cheers, Peter
P.S. It would be probably be interesting to have the original posted on WS to see the difference that your PS did on the final version.

Hi Doug,
Great composition. The colors are a bit unreal, that gives a nice look to your picture.

Vince
