Photographer's Note
The Badlands of Alberta. Seen here is Horsethief Canyon.
"Horsethief Canyon is where bright yellow canola fields and giant rocking pump jacks meet the precipice of pure Badlands splendour. Stand at the canyon edge and take in the entire valley or strap on some hikers and venture deep into the canyon itself - just be careful, there are no interpretive signs and it's easy to get lost.
In case you were wondering... Horsethief Canyon is so-named because it was used by American horse thieves in the old west, to hide stolen horses en route to buyer markets in Alberta. Horsethief Canyon is 16 km from Drumheller, just past the Royal Tyrrell Museum on North Dinosaur Trail (Highway 838)."

Hello Chris,
A good capture of this rocky landscape, which is nicely relieved by the little strip of blue sky. The folds and textures in the rock are well rendered. Excellent natural looking colours and very good clarity.

Hi Chris,
The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Horsethief Canyon and takes our eyes toward the rock formation in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The picture is clear and precise. The light brings out the different earth tints of the scenery. Have a nice day.

Nice shot showing the stark beauty of the Badlands. I've seen many pictures of this place, but I have never actually been there (yet!). I'm not sure about the placement of the horizon in this, visible on the right but not on the left - I think it's better to either cut it off completely or leave it completely. This shot is getting me thinking it might be time to visit the Badlands!

Surely Alberta is a very interesting region to visit, with so different natural environments. I had no idea that there were canyons in it! I only had seen its mountains and national parks...
Your photo is an original kind of composition where you excluded the sky to have a more close up view or perhaps because it was too pale (?). Anyway it gives a good effect focusing our eyes onto the bottom of the valley. I like also the sideway light that enhances the textures and the details.
Best greetings,

Hi Chris,
Beautiful landscape, especially by the contrast of the dark shadowed that give great depth in the picture. Really a landscape for the horse thieves I remember from the Westerns from my youth.

Hi Chris,
Ah, this is like going home, Chris. Drumheller was my home for about 10 years and your image brings back a flood of memories - I spotted this from the thumbnail! Great place and a great shot. Well done and thanks a ton for sharing this one. Gerald

Hola Chris.
Interesting view of the Horsethief Canyon, your POV is good, maybe would be nice to see the top of the rocky mountain in the bg, but your shot is very good anyway. Good colors, light and sharpness, Nice composition.
TFS.
Best wishes.
