I haven't been on Trekearth for a very long time, so thought I'd drop by and see how things are going. I had the awesome privilege of experiencing a spectacular sunrise from a ridge high above Canmore, Alberta recently. I am always amazed at how the first light literally lights up mountain peaks like this. A light fresh dusting of snow added a nice touch in the foreground. I also liked the depth and diagonals that this image presents. Enjoy.

Hello Gerald ,
Welcome back to TE ! With a spectacular capture , no doubt . Amazing effect of these red lit peaks contrasting with the greyish tonalities of the composition , that is excellent , with the different layers in diagonal .

Your note sums up the fine qualities of the photo well. Very subdued morning light, even the reddish glow on the peak. The composition/crop is very pleasing with the diagonal and the shadowy forms of the trees. Nice work. One wonders what the scene looked like a few minutes later.
