Let me just indulge in a little bit of nostalgic memory recollection of my years spent in Canada. Perhaps at the same time pay tribute to all the Canadians photographers on TE with this post. A great country with beautiful landscapes stretching from Atlantic Canada provinces to Pacific coast of BC. I would hope that one day I will return to see this country with a digital camera.
Race (10) Ten, CDN$5.00, August 7, 1978. I suddenly feel like shaking every Canadian's hands!
This would be my final summer in Canada as I would graduate from university in the spring. So I took the summer off for a cross-Canada camping tour on a VW Beetle and a 4-men tent [supposed to be 4 of us but last minute remaining with 2]. At our Calgary Stampede stop, it was a day of fun. I kept this ticket stub in my photo album and recently took a photo of this.
But no, it was not my last summer. Somehow, after graduation, university offer for graduate school was made and I came back to Malaysia only for a few weeks, then returned again for 2 more years of graduate work.

Collections of nostalgic memorabilia such as this surely brings many fond memories of the younger days, unfortunately, I collected none during my decade long stay in Australia. When you do go back to Canada, let me know, perhaps I could join you if you dont mind. I like the story.

Hello Bill, Lovely story & well told. I think that is the reason we keep things so that at a later stage we can look at these thing and instantly remember like it was only yesterday. Did you win?

Very interesting way to tell us about Canada you knew. It is a fantastic country with brave people facing this hostile climate.
Thanks for sharing,
