Photographer’s Note
The view that everyone on this site knows, even people who have never been to the Canadian Rockies. And about the only view anyone ever gets of Peyto Lake.
Actually, there are a couple of trails down to the lakeshore, allowing one the option of either walking along the shore or exploring the alluvial fan of the Peyto Glacier. But most visitors are, like we were, in a bit of a hurry to get from Banff to Jasper, or vice versa, and don't take the time to hike down to the lakeshore or to the glacier. So we all get the standard view here, as Henk likes to point out, standing on the little platform with all the tourists.
I had to post a shot of this lake eventually, because let's be honest, it's an incredibly beautiful view. Next time I visit it, however, I plan on getting a closer look.

Hi Clark. It may have been done before but that doesn’t detract from this shot. Great colours and wonderful light, I love the sun/shadow play on the land and lake. Good handling of light also with detail right through the scene. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good weekend, Paul.

Clark,
Beautiful, one of my favorite stop, unfortunately I didn't have the best light, I posted a pano view of this one. Look like you have a little better light but not ideal neither, but you did wonderful job. Very beautiful composition, with the vertical format to show us the layer of element from where your standing to the pine forest and the most beautiful color lake and off course the layer of mountains stretching into the far distance. good Depth. I like it. Thanks

Hi Clark,
the turquoise colour is amazing. The image formation with a lot of depth is also very good, as the pattern of the different natural colours..
Cheers Chris

Hi Clark
Like you I only have a shot from here. I think I will try for something different next time. Anytime I have been here the light has been harsh and contrasty and I never seem to be satisfied with my images. You seem to have overcome that problem and have at least gotten a more evenly lit day.

Hi Clark,
How ya doing man...hope all is fine with you.
A strange shot from Peyto, seldom seen in vertical format, and only because of that my repsect in showing it like this. Normally we see the wide possible view but this also looks pretty good and impressive. Maybe the foreground is a bit too warm for my taste, but the overal view with patches of sunlight is wonderful. The location is famous, not much space to move around, but it's still a must see view when being there.
Well done, i like this vertical presentation.
Regards,
Henk

Hi Clark,
It's cool to look back at some images from passionate Rockie's fan like you, upon returning from there and being able to have a better understanding of the spot.
I really like your version, full of light and brilliant colours, despite clouds coverage. Actually, it's the combination of these conditions that makes your image so interesting. The vertical frame is an additional factor that contributes to make your shot distinctive.
Can you believe the colour from this lake... Pffff! You have to see it to believe it!
Great catch honouring your gallery!
