Photographer’s Note
This one required a bit of post-processing to make it presentable. One of the many disadvantages of mid-afternoon photography, especially when it involves shooting into the sun. :)
The three lakes here are, from left to right, Lake Louise, Mirror Lake, and Lake Agnes. This is the view from near the summit of the Little Beehive. The trail doesn't offer this view--you have to hop along some stones to a better viewpoint.
The Lake Agnes/Little Beehive hike is wonderful if you do it on a weekday early in the morning or in the evening. On a Saturday at noon, it's a bit crowded, but still worth your time.

hi Clark,
most impressive shot, the intensity of colours and light create a feeling of crisp reality and a dream at the same time. love the composition with strong layers and the clouds brushing over the mountain tops and seemingly sooo close. but I find the photo also feels a bit soft, for a scene like this I'd wish to see a little more sharpness.
best,
Kristine

The landscape is truly amazing, but I think that there is a yellow-green dominance. Maybe you saturated colors too much and this green sometimes comes out with the polarizer too.

HI Clark,
composition and colors are really beautiful. It's true though there's something odd in the overall result but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Clark,
I did all the walk to the Big Hive and saw the potential of having an interesting compositino including all three lakes from the Little Hive. So, depsite being tired, I took myself with my heavy backpack full of photographic gear and walked from the Big to the Little Hive. As I was approaching probably the very same POV as you did here the weather had some bad mood turn and I wasn't able to get the shot. Seeing yours reminds me of this dissapointment. Your shot has some better light but also has the problem of the sun as backlight. I guess we will have to go back to this place and stay overnight to get the scene with the early sun being slightly in the back and to the right. What do you think?

Nice photo. The little bit of foreground really sets off the rest of the photo. Interesting that there is still snow in the middle of July.

amazing greens here, clark. your post sure does an excellent job in making me eager to pack my bags and head straight for the banff national park... a good one! i agree though: something is off with the 'softness'. did you use some softening PP?
regards,
kristaps
