Photographer’s Note

This lake has been one of my favorite places in the Canadian Rockies since I first visited it nearly three years ago: Herbert Lake.

It may be one of the smaller lakes in the Canadian Rockies, but it has to be one of the most scenic--surrounded by the Waputik Range to the west and the mountains of Lake Louise to the southwest. Given that it's right next to the Icefields Parkway, almost everyone that travels along the Parkway stops to visit the lake. And so of course I did too. :)

After a stormy morning, the clouds had started to clear about a half hour before this. This was the best light we got for the rest of the day. What a beautiful spot it was.
