As I stood on the Athabasca Glacier, with several hundred feet of ice beneath me, I looked upward to this great icefield and simply marvelled at the majesty of Nature. The Icefields Parkway highway, running between Banff and Jasper, is a 'must see' destination for anyone visiting the Canadian Rockies.
(My globetrotting on Google Earth tells me this is the Andromeda Glacier, on the slopes of the mountain with the same name).

Hi Jeff,
Very nice frame-filling image. The composition is well done and the textures are great in both the ice and rocks. Nice hints of blue in the glacier ice. I expected to see a telephoto lens used but see that this was a crop. What did the original image look like? Worth posting a workshop?
Cheers!

Hi Jeff:
I don't know why this hasn't gotten more points, other than that it has a cooler tone to it. I suppose it could illustrate how cold that glacier is, but I think a little less blue in the picture would have been nice. That said, I love the subject and the use of the crop. I posted a workshop with a rough idea of how to give the image a little more warmth. Cheers.

Hi Jeff,
I have been meaning to cooment on this image for a few days. I like it because you show us a very interesting and yet easy climbing area. Athabasca and Andromeda are both considered easy ascents by Canadian Mountaineering standards. I have climbed these peaks and the view from up there are fantastic. Excellent compo!
