Photographer’s Note

I liked the repetitive, striated patterns & graphism, of the parellel bands of vertical rocks, on the mountain summit. Taken near the Sulphur Mountain gondola terminus, behind Banff, in the Canadian Rockies.

Hi Chris,

The trees are framing well this area of the mountain. The point of view leads our eyes toward the Rockies in the bacground which is giving depth to the composition. The reflection of the light on the snow is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Chris,
Indeed, the rock streaks create an interesting pattern on the snow. I like also how the dark forest encircles the slope and the hazy snowed peaks cover the horizon. It's a great mountain view, quite wintry for October.

Hello Chris,

The rock formation creating the striations does present an unusual image, evocative of alligators descending in parallel formation. Well composed image. Banff is one site I hope to visit.

Lovely autumn snow fall on the high Canadian mountains.
Brilliant contrast between the freshly fallen snow and the lush evergreens lining the mountain top.
