Hi!!

Wow!! The sky sure produced some fascinating colors and a bit of mystic effect and feel!! I like the subject and its beauty but the photograph is poor in quality.. A bit of sharpness perhaps could have helped .. I see the red objects downwards so hazy that i cannot say what it is.. The sky is also grain full... Try fixing these using photoshop!

C'est vrai mque c'est mangigique, que effet ces lumières boréales, ces trace verte dans ce ciel de couelurs bleu-gis sont fantastique, un grandiose spectacle.

Une belle image de cette aurore boréale, un phénomène qui est particulier au grand nord canadien et aux pays du nord de l'Europe. La prise de vue dirige notre regard vers l'horizon. Il y a un bon contraste entre les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Salut Jean,
Now this is something i would like to see for myself one day. That must be a beautiful feeling for you seeing this and making this 15 sec exposure. All digital camera's have problems with very long exposure (lots of noise show up) but that can easy be correct in the software. It's the magic of nature what it does here, and that looks just fantastic. Very beautiful, wish i stoood beside you when you took this one.

It's not often that one sees this.

And I always thought you'd only have this in the northern parts of Scandinavia. But in Canada as well as it seems. Nice.

Une moment magique qui ne doit pas être facile à fixer sur la pellicule, 15 sec à 3,5, il n'y a vraiment pas beaucoup de lumière mais tu t'en sors super bien, on voit ces lumières fantomatiques.

Bonjour Jean,
on était tenté de dire "Voilà ce qui manquait". Aller si haut dans le nord en cette saison et revenir sans aurores boréales, c'était pas bien.
Les couleurs de ces filets photoniques contrastent bien avec les rouges au sol.
C'est tout simplement féérique, peu d'autres mots.

Salut Jean,

Je suis toujours aussi ému devant le spectacle des aurores boréales. J'avais prévu de les photographier sur la "terre ferme" aux Lofoten... mais je n'en ai pas eu le courage : peur de circuler de nuit sur les routes verglacées, p*** de fatigue m'ont retenu... au lit. Par contre, sur le navire, elles étaient présentes et souvent très belles à chaque fois que je les guettais le soir et ma technique s'améliore au fil des voyages mais bon à "main levée" en cours de navigation, les étoiles et les lumières font des petits traits... A l'escale de Skjervøy, nous étions 3 amateurs avec nos trépieds sur le pont... mais elles nous ont fait faux bond quelques minutes :((

Ta photo est très belle... mais "en vrai", c'est quand même autre chose ;)

A combien d'isos l'as tu prise ?

Wonderful show of nature. I like those sweeping curves lights make. Also colour is beautiful, although looking at the artificial lights on the ground, it seems that the colour balance of the camera was somewhat off correct.
Congratulations! I think it's not foolproof to see these even in Canada on a shorter visit.

quel spectacle!!! Je suis vraiment impressionné par les photos d'aurores! Je les cours depuis belle lurette mais je n'ai pas encore été chanceux. À ma latitute, elles sont plus rares il faut dire. Je t'envie, tu ne peux pas savoir!

je suis d'avis qu'une plus petite ouverture aurait été meilleure. est-ce que tu avais bien placé le focus à l'infini?

Hats off, Jean. I only saw similar once flying from the US to Europe through the airplane window. My wife and I were awestruck by the vision, but this one beats everything. I barely can imagine what you felt at this moment. Wonderful capture!

C'est vraiment un spectacle merveileux
Je reconnais que ce n'est pas simple à photographier car l'Autofocus n'est pas très efficace sur les grandes portions de ciel.
J'avoue que l'aurore est très bien captée et j'aimerai bien vivre un tel spectacle.

C'est vrai comme l'a dit Marc, à notre latitude (Montréal ou Québec) on peut voir des aurores boréales. Je n'ai pas eu cette chance malgré leur surveillance sur le net, pas comme Marlyse qui en a déjà vues de plus spectaculaires.
C'est indéniablement un spectacle inoubliable. Ton image me plait beaucoup.
