Photographer’s Note

In this time of the year days are longer and longer in the North, the sun come realy early in the morning (around 6 am and the first daylights are about 4am) but the lake is still icy here on White pass at 900meters of elevation.

Hi Claude,

Fantastic capture of this barren but beautiful part of the world. It's somewhere I'd love to visit myself after reading many stories based in and around the Yukon/ Alaska.

The colours are fantastic and I like the wide format. The dark details in the mountains are just enough to work well. Only one thing I might have changed is the pools of water in the bottom left of the composition - perhaps through contrasting or changing the exposure post processing they look slightly neon/ too bright, so whatever post processing I did I would probably exclude them from any changes so they don't stand out so much. Only my opinion though! :)

Bonjour Claude,

Il y a une superbe ambiance avec e ciel aux teintes dorées. Ca contraste bien avec le rendu bleu du sol.
L exposition a permis de menager aussi bien les ombres que le ciel: ca fonctionne bien ainsi.

Le grand nord dans toute sa beauté, ces levers et couchers de soleil qui doivent durer des heures entières sont de formidables aubaines pour les photographes! Les teintes du ciel sont somptueuses, avec pour compléter le tableau des reflets dorés sur le lac encore gelé...Ca laisse rêveur!
