Photographer's Note

As a snowmobile passes the town bell, I see the old and the new in Old Crow.

The primary mode of winter transportation is now snowmobile in this fly-in community. Years ago, most sleds were pulled by dogs. Today dogsledding has become a sport or a hobby, not as much of a way of life.

Ringing the bell (generally in an emergency) still brings the whole community running.
