Hey, welcome back Vera! A stark look, just wondering if you stepped up the contrast on this shot in PS? It works well if you did, or perhaps just shot in a mode that does that automatically? That is a gorgeous sky. The abject simplicity works really well here.
Funny, I captured an inukshuk today that is almost identical in shape to this one. It is not far from your new digs here in town, if there is still snow when you get here, I'll take you to it. (actually a grouping of inuksuit) I'm not sure how walking in that area will be once the snow goes. Ah, It is in the photo I sent you in your personal mail today...

Well, I'm a big fan of Inuit culture and art, so I'm happy to see some here on TE. I've taken a few pictures of the one in Vancouver (I think a leftover from Expo 86), but it's nice to see one in it's natural habitat! I like the simple composition and the context the shot provides. Thanks for sharing.
Browsing thru your gallery after identifying your ulu at I came across this lovely inukshuk.
Même si L'hiver approche à grand pas dans la vallée du Saint-Laurent au 47ème parallèle de l'hémisphère nord, nous sommes loin d'être habitués de voir de si vastes étendues de neige supervisées par un inukshuk solitaire (Jean-Pierre)
