[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ilisaqsivik, the family resource centre/wellness centre, is a struggling non-profit organization in Clyde River which does wonderful work within the community. This picture is of an elder and children making their way to a community picnic organized by Ilisaqsivik. It provides a positive enviroment for people from the community to come together, drink tea and enjoy country food while the children go sliding and get rides on the dog teams. The country food at this picnic was frozen raw Arctic Char and frozen raw caribou.

I look forward to your thoughts on the picture.

Vera, this is a SUPERB photo. It certainly displays our native people who lived in such harsh environment. Maurajn has also submitted some great photos of the great white north. Hope you guys get in touch with one another and share some of your stories. Again, love your photo. Nice job on the framing.

Beautiful picture, full of life, great choice to show it in B/W. I would maybe like to see a bit more empty space to the right, but that is a minor detail, I love your photo as it is and it is going to my favorites...

Beautiful. It feels very positive and the white colour gives the feeling of space. Great.

This photo is excellent because it really displays the lifestyle of the Arctic peoples, how they struggle against nature and how they enjoy their lives in such harsyh conditions.

Beautiful view Vera, the expressions of faces is simply great. I think the picture is a little bit over exposed, it's hard to get a perfect exposure in show or sand. The croping is perfect, a lot of action in this photo. Congratulation !

That is a very fine photo, Vera, you must be pleased! Dog team, elder in traditional clothing, children running alongside with the joy that they always seem to have. Very well set in black and white. I think this one has potential to go far - consider submitting mags, competitions, etc?

Hi Vera, A great picture of an universal theme: happy femily.
Regards,
Paul

The focus is a little bit off (certainly because of the resize...) but this photo is awesome ! The long focal used make a interesting effect.

I'm just discovering your Gallery and your "world" looks so cold, snowy and I like it !

i'll be back ! ;-)

This is a beautiful and natural image in my opinion. I love the mix of moods and the black and white to keep it balanced.
Despite the simplicity, there is a lot going on.
I wish I could give you 50 smilies.

hello Vera!
beautiful picture full of happiness. b&w was a great idea. sharpness is ok, but i think you should consider resizing it; it is a bit too high for me. except for this i think you did a great job!
regards,
Piotr
