I actually took this photo today. As you can see we don't have very much snow which is a real drag as it makes ski-dooing difficult. This is not a great photo. My excuse is that it was an overcast day...but it does show our entire town of Clyde River in the background.
Inukshuks were built to help people find their way on the land. Hopefully, now that we are getting our daylight back, I will get more photos which is why I named this one Inukshuk 1. It was -30C today. Very nippy on the fingers.

You live in very special circumstances, Vera.
Here you have good documentary shot of it and including your notes, I think this is TE shot,
telling of life around the world. Maybe I could have taken more space above upper stone, now it is so close to frame ? Not sure about that.

I really like that I can see the ice crystals formed on the stones here, as well as make out the "entire town" in the background - a great testament to the traditions and ruggedness of the North. Great series you're posting. Thanks for sharing! :o)
(Here's hoping for more snow for you, so you can go back out on the ski-doo!)
