With this photo I am trying something different on TE. I have not seen many sport pics on TE, but I think that this one offers a bit more.
The background is of old iron mines in Schefferville. The red color off the soil is caused by the high concentration of this metal. The colors of this shot have not been modified. The compagny decided to close it's mines in 1982 for political reasons, and left dozens of open field mines that destroyed many square km of this beautiful landscape.
These mines are great to play in them on a motorbike, but I would prefer to have nature back the way it was before...

A great action shot. Everything is nice and clear - well captured. I like the red soil; it makes for an interesting background.

A stunning action shootage Paul! The effect of placing this man and his bike loose from the ground in this kind of scenery is amazing. An extraordindory way of isolating a subject ;-)

Great composition and sharpness in this action shot! The soil colours are so wonderful! The framing puts the final touch! Just excellent!

Very well framed and taken in a lunar (or mars?) environment. It gives the feeling of flying with ease above the slopes. Good you posted that one, as well as your notes. Seems, as you mention, to be a paradise for trail and cross bikes. Makes me regret my Transalp!

A very good action photo catch, great colours. I am not certain about the frame.

Hi Paul a lovely capture, the angle and the position in the frame of the biker. For future refrence, try panning which we have discussed, as well as a slower shutter speed, the spokes of the wheels are frozen, there is no conveying movement in the picure. The face that is visible is great, but some fill flash to give texture to his clothing would enhance this picture a lot.

Nice shot!. No noise ... coming from the motorcycle or on the pic itself. And no dust under the bike too ? a little of that would have helped giving the real feel of action in this dusty environment. Not a critique, just something I noticed. Très belle capture de l'envolée de ce motocycliste. Fantastique d'avoir pu gelé le mouvement entre ciel et terre sans que la photo ne soit dégradée par un quelconque flou.

A great shot, Paul. Wonderful action compsition, excellent timing. you got it in the correct moment, correct angle, and correct position.
Every thing else is just great - framing, colors, sharpness.
I would like to see more of this kind from you.
Very well done.

Well done. You captured the action at just the right moment. Great colors. Good composition.
(...and as a fellow-biker I can really appreciate this shot. I took similar photos at a bike show recently, and will post them some time)

Nice motion pic Paul. I wonder how many times the biker has jumped before you caught this one. Is to bad that the biker were in a black suit. Good shot Paul.

Fine shot where the open land in the back adds to a very "airy" conseption of the pic.
