Photographer’s Note

Photo submited for the April Scavenger Hunt: 1. A yellow car.

I saw many yellow cars all around since the beginning of April, and this is the one I finally decide to submit to the hunt! It was photographed over a week ago, on Easter, at the breakfast table. The newspaper you see is La Presse, which tags itself as "le plus grand quotidien français d'Amérique". As the very "Magrittian" title suggests, this is not a yellow car... it's the representation of it ;-)

Hi Martine, great picture, and a good entry. There are even two yellow cars on the table. I like the comparison between Margritte and your picture. Very nice composition. I like the tilting.

A funny & creative entry. I like the composition with the extreme leaning 'defined' by the word capuccino and as Riny says - there are even two cars. I like how you drag Magritte into the scene to make it a nice multi-layered conceptual ensemble. Nice choice of DOF too.

Don't bother about the toys, your idea is even better, "nonaffirmative photographing" and typically "banlieusarde" - Great point-of-view, very sharp, and superbe framing. A lot of imagination here...

Très bonne prise de vue pour le thème de la voiture jaune et j'adore non seulement la composition mais surtout le titre inspiré de mon peintre préféré. Je viens d'ailleurs de publier quelques photos de la ville où Magritte à vécu pendant sa jeunesse...

Très jolie composition, voiture que j'aime beaucoup, couleur sympa (celle de ma voiture, btw!) et très bon souvenirs (La Presse)...

Bref, vous l'aurez compris, j'aime cette photo!
