Photographer’s Note

Quebec City's skyline is dominated by the massive Château Frontenac Hotel, perched on top of Cap-Diamant. The hotel is beside the Terrasse Dufferin (Dufferin Terrace), a walkway along the edge of the cliff, offering beautiful views of the Saint Lawrence River.

In Quebec alloggiavamo in un hotel di tutto rispetto, questo è l'edificio più famoso di Québec,Chateau Frontenac, un hotel con un'architettura fiabesca che sorge sulla terrasse Dufferin, un viale pedonale che sorge praticamente sulle mura della rocca e che offre delle belle viste sul sottostante San Lorenzo.

Lo Château Frontenac, nel centro di Québec, è uno dei monumenti più celebri della città. Fu costruito tra la fine del XIX e l'inizio del XX secolo dall'architetto Bruce Price per la società canadese delle ferrovie Canadian Pacific Railways ed è uno dei Canadian Pacific Hotels. È un "cugino" dello Chateau Lac Louis sulle rive del Lac Louis in Alberta.
Price utilizzò elementi architettonici medioevali e rinascimentali ispirandosi in particolare ai castelli della Francia e della Scozia. Il castello è oggi uno dei più esclusivi alberghi del Canada.
Il suo nome deriva da quello del Governatore della Colonia della Nuova Francia, Louis de Buade Comte de Frontenac et de Palluau (1662-1698).

mi piace questo blue hour shot....e devo dire che questo castello sembra uscito da una fiaba.
credo che dormirci durante una luna di miele sia il top....anche se credo che i prezzi non siano propriamente equo-solidali!

That's an excellent night picture and one of the best of that "Château" I've ever seen here at TE!
Sharpness, exposure and colors are outstanding!
The pov was very well chosen and it was truly privileged! The composition is very good, though simple!

You've taken the picture of this wonderful building from a very good angle. The Château Frontenac really looks like a photo from a fairy tale. The lights and the colours of the castle are splendid in that dark blue sky.

C'est une belle prise de vue, bien nette. Le ciel est d'un beau bleu profond, et fait bien ressortir la brique orangée du château. Bravo.
