Photographer's Note

Ever since the pulp and paper companies stopped floating logs down the Jacques-Cartier River , a group of dedicated people have been trying to re-introduce Atlantic salmon to this majestic river. They have had some good years and some bad years but the salmon are still coming back each year after the initial years of "seeding" salmon in the upper reaches of the river.
This is just one of the natural ladders the salmon would use along this river. It is right beside a much larger fall of rushing water so the sdalmon would use this easier route. Sorry I wasn't able to catch any of them leaping upstream:-)

As noted in the critiques, the original photo was too dark. I checked my library and noted I had taken two images, the first one(the original)I shot with my manual exposure compensation set too low at -2/3(My idea was to use the setting to cut the brightness of the white water) and the second shot with no exposure compensation, which adds to the brightness of the trees.
