Always along the Lachine Canal, I walked a section of the bank where the old factories are still not converted condo building. Some are abandoned or underutilized like this and are the target of graffiti. Others have been converted into loft rudimentary often occupied by artists ..

I found this public statement of love to Vicky quite colourful.

C'est une image qui représente bien les quartiers ou édifices abandonnés. Les "graffiteux" s'en donnent à coeur joie et ici à coeur aimant. Très bonne netteté de l'image.

Je me souviens avoir fait le même périple à partir du marché Atwater vers les vieilles usines le long du canal. Un festival de graffitis et de couleurs.

J'ai l'impression que tous les artistes dans le monde souhaitent s'exprimer à travers ces tags. Cette "Vicky" a bien de la chance !
Je suppose que le terme "condominiums" signifie copropriété !
Une photographie qui fera date lorsque cette usine sera détruite.

Both funny and eye-catching, Rejean - it certainly stands out among the rest of the less creative tags on the building. Nicely presented with good framing and excellent color.

You certainly found some very interesting graffiti-cum-street art, a real eyecatcher but much nicer than the usual nasty slogans grafitti one often sees and this is closer to street art work for me. A bright and cheerful subject and well spotted as the wall attracts viewers with its rich vibrant colours and lovely interplay of bold colors, patterns and imagination. Nicely cropped and focus is spot on, perfectly in place and lends itself extremely well to colour the environment and transform this place to cheery look that suits the mood. A superb shot in every way - clean, colour, comp, content and interest.

Hi Jean. I am always amazed about this public art. Some of it is art. Who has a spray can to perpetuate on the walls. Your photo is a good example.

Good composition - as with many of your other photos, you are not afrid to show us the less public or not-so-pretty aspects of the world. Having said that, I think you have captured some true art here, obviously representing the time and care expended (and, one assumes, the affection felt for Vicky) by the painter. I also feel we don't see enough of these types of photograph, where local people - knowingly or not - have contributed to the revitalisation and rejuvenation of derelict buildings and have turned eyesores into places of often stunning artistic merit. Good work.
