Photographer’s Note

One of the many creatures on the Southam Building, located in downtown Montreal. This building was built in 1916 and was located in an area called Paper Mill because of all the companies connected to the paper & printing industry who settled there at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Une des créatures qui ornent la facade de l'édifice Southam, dans le centre-ville de Montréal. Construit en 1916, cet édifice est situé dans une région qui s'appelait autrefois Paper Hill, surnommée ainsi à cause des nombreuses industries reliées à l’imprimerie et au papier qui s'y trouvaient.

Hello Michelle,

I like the textures in this simple composition. I would have like the face a little more if the sculptor had made its texture rougher like the rest of the body, and carved his expression differently. Nonetheless, for your part in shooting the gargoyle if we can call it that, you did an excellent job.
