Photographer’s Note
Further to my visit to Grosse-Ile (Quebec, Canada). This machine was of use in 1902 to the manufacture for the electricity in the ile. All the electricité necessaire in function of the installations of the ile is produced by this machine activated by a powerful steam engine.

A nice shot about an interesting subject.
Maybe is it a little bit grainy ?

Very interesting subject matter. Are you saying that this generator provided all the electricity to Grosse-Ile in the 1900's? Out of curiosity, what's the power rating on it?

My dad would have loved this shot, or even better being there for himself, motors were his life's work, needless to say I like it too, very well composed, the belt draws your eye to the far end of the building.

Superbe photo d'intérieur...
very nice!
Le texte accompagnant la photo, la rend plus enrichissante...
Il y a de la verdure comme en Irlande sur cette île?

Excellent composition and color is very nice too. I think this would make a wonderful B&W although the mood will definitely change.

Ok shot, but with some noise in the darker parts of the picture(on my screen atleast).
The reason I think it's only ok is that it reminds me of a bit "point-n-shoot" of an old thing. What I miss is a bit moer "artistic" twist of it that makes it a bit more interesting. Now it's ok for a while, but unless you are interested in these spesific items you very soon loose your interest.
Hope this made any sense......
You've got some detail-shots from this place?
