Took a lot of effort to get the gull to pose for a profile. had to let it pose at its own pace.

Hi Kumar,

Kudos for your patience in getting this gull in profile. Since nobody else has bothered to offer anything constructive I'll have a go at sharing my opinion (and I remind that it is only my opinion). I think you got the positioning of the bird right through your patience. There are a few aspects of this image though that lack the "wow" factor. I think that the most important thing is that it was taken during unflattering light conditions. Bright midday light is most often too contrasty and blue. Earlier morning or later evening light will usually portray your subjects more favorably. The second aspect is that I think it would have worked better to have the bird larger in the frame. I appreciate that you might not have been able to do this without a longer telephoto lens but the bird is rather swallowed up in this composition. The shadow area and the branch dominate visually over the intended subject.

I hope this is helpful. I hate to see someone take the time to post an image and have nobody offer anything back. I think it is disrespectful.

Cheers!

Bob G.

Hi Kumar ..

Patience pays.. great shot and nice natural colors..i think the shot was taken in the afternoon .. hence the brightness of the light on the grass and bird..

Congrats..

Cheers,
