Photographer’s Note

This photo is taken from the railway bridge in Goderich, Ontario. The river here is the Maitland River, which is 150 kms long and was named after Sir Peregrine Maitland, who had been a Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada from 1818 until 1828, is a popular fishing and boating spot.there are many myths and legends about the river, including a bottomless hole among others. The river was originally called in the native Ojibwa language “Mennesetung”, meaning - Mennes,~ small berries, that grew along the river side, and Tung,~ heard before seen, as the river loops on itself.
It is a beautiful place, and I will be posting more photos in the next few days :)
