Wave breaker Photo

Photographer’s Note

To participate to Pierrot Beltante's theme of "ganivelles of the world" showing various wave breakers in different countries here is my contribution of such an installation on Wasaga Beach on Lake Huron taken in last July during a very windy day.

Now I'm not sure that the section on the beach is really to break the waves as there was a sign indicating that this was the boundary between, on the right side, the public beach, and on its left side, the beach owned and managed by the local natives, who's name I don't recall unfortunately.

Merci pour Pierrot d'avoir joué le jeu, je n'ai pas trouvé de ganivelles lors de mon séjour de vacances à la mer.
Le ciel couvert est parfaitement exposé et l'avant-plan est bien lumineux.
Le cadrage en position humble donne une bonne profondeur esthétique au décor.

Simplement splendide, superbe panorama. Même si le ciel est lourd, cette photo demeure très apaisante.

Nice one Nina, I can really feel the wind and cold.
Nice simple composition, that contains all of the elements of a good picture (uprights, horizontals, diagonals and thirds).

ah ah ah :-D bravo Nina pour cette chouette photo et félicitations pour cette trouvaille d'outre atlantique, même d'outre Quiévrain comme dirait Ephèmère Bi....
Les tonalités du mauvais temps sont bien traduite et la luminosité très limpide et fraîche. Le rendu du sable gorgé d'eau est saisissant. Mise en scène des ganivelles très graphique. Parfait.

Wonderful shot! The colors palette of a rainy day, the angel you shot the wood poles adds POV and creates a good composition. Well captured!

Très belle photo Nina, j'aime la couleur turquoise de l'eau, la façon que les poteaux sont installés, cela donne plus de profondeur à l'image. On dirait le bord de la mer, une mer d'eau douce. Très réussie.

pas vrai en Amerique aussi celà existe...super de nous rejoindre Nina...pour ces ganivelles bien rendues sur cette plage que je connais pas ...dont j'ai le plaisir de découvrir...bienvenue parmi nous paour le thème...elles sont placées même en longuer...est-ce pour l'agostage des bateaux.??? bien rendu et merci Nina...amicalement BI

what kind of "local natives" are there in canada. it sounds quite interesting and i'll appreciate it if you fill me in on this :)

Salut Nina,

Je suis de retour après une absence prolongée. Travail oblige...

Très belle image. J'aime la perspective qu'elle nous offre. J'apprécie également le ciel qui est un peu menancant et qui offre une belle lumière.

And a very good contribution here, rainy day colors but still a nice pastel colorpalet enforced by the framing with a good perspective diagonal composition. Well done Nina.
