I know: this is a cheat! But I really do not like Guinness! I even offered to buy a Guinness for someone else, and was turned down – so here’s the compromise: not green beer (the very idea makes me cringe!) but a nice Canadian beer in a Guinness glass, or a glass of Canadian (Nova Scotian) beer in a Canadian glass.
In either case, I offer you a traditional Irish blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you;
May the wind always be at your back;
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

God will punish you for NOT loving Guinness! :-)
Admit, this beer looks a little pale, no? :-)
Tough, it's a nice photograph of two well-framed pints of "beer" and the most importing thing is that you enjoyed them. I enjoyed your picture with it's St. Patrick's frame and the honest note.

Heretics! Guinness is wonderful. Lager (what passes for "beer" in much of the world) is the Devil's work and fit only for watering the daisies.
Good photo Silke. Good composition, lighting and sharpness.

Well done, Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too!
I do agree about the beer, however I will be adding green ;)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, Silke!
Do you have Irish relations or yourself Irish born? I like Guinness and prefer the campaign "Guiness is good for you". I never tasted canadian ones.
The warm colours with the pleasant light and its effects (from the glasses and the small pink/orange spot) are lovely, the wood is great shown. As you present us two glasses it works well as a centered one, as both are single decentered objects.
I am not the one prefering coloured frames, but this one in Irish green is very much convenient.

Happy St Patrick day to you & LOL at the story !
This is for sure a very Irish way to celebrate this event, and better share the moment with friends as suggested by the 2 glasses, and I do like the green frame, I'll take my share of the effort and salute your photo and our Irish friends with a green smile ;-)
Have a nice week end,

Not a big beer drinker but the color of that thing looks anything but :). Will e visiting Dublin in about a month, and will have to visit Guinness there to check. Good close-up; sharp and fitting for the day. Oh, and the frame is perfect!
Happy St. Patrick's day!

Perfect shot for a day like today--once a year toast to St Patrick. Very nice and a bit outside of your collection's range. (yes, some humor here)I really think you can expand here with other creatively seen and presented shots. Frame and presentation are stunning. I hear Guinness is low in calories as if I need another reason...Yumm!

Good still life, with excellent symmetry between the 2 glasses, & superb sharpness & dof. I like the red glow at the back. Tfs!

i like the shapes of the glasses filled with the golden shiny liquid.

recommend a nice glass of koelsch (the beer from cologne. *g*)
i just saw some of the parade in dublin on german tv.
so, a big Prost! & have a great weekend, thorsten.

And a Happy St. Paddy's Day to you too. Strong vibrant colors and fine details that are making me thristy. Your lovely poem is most welcomed on this day. Another version says "may you be in haven an hour before the devil knows your dead."

That beer looks a bit watery and gassy to me, but then again I'm a Guinness drinker, and half Irish!
You photographed the drinks very well though, and I like the green frame which goes well with the spirit of the day.
I hope you had a good night Silke.

You are one of the few (if not the only one) who posted a photo in accordance with the St-Patrick day. Even the frame was colored accordingly. Cheers !

Happy St. Paddy;s day. Alexander Keith's is a fine brew. Many of the the Canadains over here in Seoul love it. Can't get it here though. Anyhow Very sharp with good detail. Good portraits of these beers :) Well done.

Great greeting card.
This photo looks awsome, the high POV works great to bring the right amount of attention to the two glasses.
One element that brings oput the great features and colour of the beer and the glasses is the backlighting, it works well to bring out the detail.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Silke. You are getting very good at these sort of images now. Quality fit for a beer and wine brochure. Good clarity and arrangement. Cheers! Murray.

And "Skål" (Skool) from me. I'm sure about the Guinness - May be I tried it some time long ago.
But never the Canadian beer - a very fine catch with a good play of the light at the table.
Thanks for sharing this and the poem

Eh Silke, your subconscious and conscious quest to quaff
is evident here!
Mind you *I* would recommend a REAL beer, rather than an Alexander Keith Pale [India] Ale...
"Those who like it like it a lot..." But "those who don't DO NOT! "
PS A pale ale in a GUINNESS glass is heresy < well to me >!
