My hometown...it's been awhile. You've captured it well...it is one of those rare skylines that does better with a vertical framing I think. You have done well with the sky as well...I haven't seen it quite that blue in Toronto in a long time.

Henk, great job managing the light, looks like it was really harsh. Like how you have composed the image using the tower and the horizon line to make an 'L' shape design. Well seen and captured.

Well, that's a very good shot! It worked well in these light conditions, I like the haze on the back and the good definition of the sky behind the top of the tower.

Wow, impossible verticals. It is amazing how you portrayed these perfect big verticals. And that blue sky is quickly becoming one of your personal trademarks. It is so deep, so strong. I really love it. The light here is amazing too. I am looking at those whites and I am really amazed how you can achieve such color quality. Can’t be only the ‘L’ lens. I am sure you have something to do with this ;) By the way, the composition is simply perfect. A supreme example of the rule of thirds. I love it.

Wat een mooie foto door de vershillende elementen samen, water en een moderne boot, een gebouw zoals er weinig tezien zijn, met er naast een fantaische toren, zeer goed in dit formaat opgenomen!

This is gorgeous Henk! It looks almost surreal. I really like the informal balance, with the short and stocky SkyDome and the tall and skinny CN Tower. The color of the sky looks beautiful (as always).

That's a nice one, I like here your close framing that focuses on the most futuristic buildings and enhances the CN Tower height, not even a passing boat is missing, though in this case a flying saucer could have been appropriate as well ;-)

Prachtig in beeld gebracht. Ik wist niet dat de toren zo hoog was, maar je ziet hier duidelijk dat hij majestueus hoog boven de andere gebouwen reikt. Mooie donkere lucht en water. Het wiite dak staat mooi tegenover de witte wolken. Uitstekende kwaliteit!

You found the perfect time for this shot, Henk, with great clouds (matching the white stadium roof) and a passing boat. Nice framing that emphasizes both of those. Perhaps the sky is a bit oversaturated, but the overall look is great. Regards, Ken.

I don’t know how it happened, but I never saw your photos previously, three months after becoming a member on this site... So it’s with great interest and admiration that I’m discovering your fabulous gallery. Looking at your personnal photo and reading some comments of yours, you seem to be a serious and dedicated photographer. I will certainly learn a lot just by looking at your images. And it is comforting to know that you’re shooting with Canon; it’s already a proof that you’re a connaisseur... :-D)

I like this photo with dominant colours we usually associate with Greece... All this big blue sky and waterfront serve as a great background for the white CN Tower and Skydome. The vertical frame serves perfectly your subjects and the L composition is great for architecture.

Leuk dit staande frame met de toren zijlings de dome, Henk, stillaan begnt men te wennen aan je diepe kleursetting waar ik bijzonder van houdt en gebruik om iets meer persoonlijk in een shot te leggen, ik geloof immers dat een foto meer met je de geest moet gemaakt worden dan te blijven hangen aan de onvolkomenheden van een camera of realiteit, wat is realiteit ? Herrinneringen groeien met je affiniteit voor je onderwerp, hieraan niet beantwoorden is jezelf iets voorliegen, niet ?

Hi Henk. A beautiful postcard (and whenever I use this word, I mean it in a good way ;o) from Toronto, where the vertical format is well chosen to focus just on the CN Tower and the Skydome, as opposed to the wider views of the complete skyline that we often get to see. The foreground boat gives a vivid aspect. Personally I would tend to slightly deemphasize the overwhelming saturation of the blue tones in this one, but in general it is a pleasant and expertly made photo (small wonder with your equipment, I was quite impressed when reading your profile ;).

What a stunning combination of the tower and the dome. Furthermore the light is perfect and you've got some interesting clouds to liven up the sky. It's nice to have the boat activity in the foreground too.
When I was in Toronto, I only had time to go up the tower and couldn't see the different view points.

Hi Henk,

Amazing that this is a 9 years old image - it looks like if it was taken yesterday. Your scanner must be of hightes quality. You write that the light was hard - well, it doesn't do any damage to the image - you still have such rich and strong colours. Well composed with the boat in front to add some movement. Very pleasant view.

Your pictures are so great, they look like postcards actually, I was trying to pick one to comment on and I think this one caught my attention. I was in Toronto not long ago and I really liked that tower, the city looks great from above.

Hi Henk,
yes, I know this is an old one, but I just wanted to give you a comment on this one because for me Toronto meant a photographic disaster ;-) I wanted to get a night shot of the city and got eaten by moskitos and when I came to get such a shot it was all gray in gray... So therfore hats off for this image Henk, it`s so nice with the clouds, the boat and the famous CN Tower. Did you go up the tower? I mean I did, didn`t get my image, but I have some wonderful memories of this great city and that`s the point. So thanks for sharing, beuatiful work, but I`m used to seing that from you.
