Photographer's Note
This was taken just following my pic Stalled. As I wrote then the Toronto Transit Commission (the system is dubbed "The Red Rocket"--thus the title) is the only public transportation network in N. America not to recieve any government funding. As such it is always breaking down. In this pic a whole line of 4-5 streetcars sit dead on the street because of the breakdown in the engine of the lead car.
============
Post-pro: I wanted colour! so I boosted contrast using curves, and saturation (in Image/Hue and Saturation). Next I selected the sky with the magic wand and adjusted levels (for a bluer sky). Finally I sharpened the man and added a thin border.

I have one other TTC pic from the Blackout: An Unscheduled Break

Very interesting shot, Alex. The composition is very strong. The contrast of the man and the trains behind is very well done. Very effective journalistic shot!

I know exactly what you wanted to get there Alex, catching a guy dressed exactly like his train is painted, I've tried a similar one in Istanbul which i didn't post down here.
While it has a documentary content about transportation, I feel this detail adds a humorous touch : you could then imagine that the guy and his train are bound together like weird twins.

A really clever shot and well seen! A good idea to boost the dominant colours as it's the colours themselves that are the subject here (at least to me!). Good stuff and good note.

Hmm... he looks a bit hard-nosed. The hard shadows and strong colors fits the subject well, and together with the figures pose, produce a very efficient image. Very good.

LOVE the colour here Alex. Excellent shot. Composition great. I like the way it is slightly off angle - giving an uneasy feeling and with all that red you feel a danger.
Your shots have an incredible sense of humour to them - I long to have that in mine - I think they (mine) are a little too morbid!

Excelent daily life shot! And great work on it. The vivid colors are really appealing and do not look unnatural (although in the limit).
The long perspective works very well here and the fact the very near driver is looking to the side while moving creates a natural feeling that somethings happening and we're there.
