You can find this amazing mixture of old and new architecture in Toronto, Canada.
The arches in front are the “Freedom Arches” dedicated to the millions who struggled to gain and defend freedom.
Behind the arches you can see the “Old Town Hall”.
The old town hall is surrounding by all kind of glancing new skyscrapers.
Despite, or maybe due to the odd mayor, Toronto is a fascinating, beautiful city.

Die drie betonnen bogen vormen een mooi doorkijkje naar het klassieke stadhuis tussen de moderne wolkenkrabbers. Mooie combinatie van drie bouwstijlen bij elkaar.

The juxtaposition of the old and the new works very well. Ironically, the old is Victorian, and the new, part of the amalgam of Freedom Arches, is evocative of flying buttresses of Medieval Churches, and much older than Victorian.

Like Bulent said, it's an interesting mix of old and new architecture and curiously the arches on the fg remind the flying buttresses of Gothic churches. All those lines and texture make it very attractive.
It's interesting how you decided to return to TE at the same time I did and both of us posted a mix of old and new architecture. :-) I am very glad you returned.

I really like the way that you have used the 'Freedom Arches', as we cannot avoid following their lead from the old building to the new. They create a very secretive, almost personal, mood, like peeping at something through your fingers.

Mooie combinatie van sterk verschillende architectuurstijlen.
De bogen die vanuit eenzelfde punt lijken te vertrekken maar dan uiteenlopen, belemmeren geenszins het zicht op het stadhuis.
Heldere, scherpe presentatie.
Vele groeten, Paul

That´s a nice and original idea to show
the church and the arcs in this way.....

The Toronto cityhall is an interesting edifice by itself, and even nicer to see it combined with the three arches in front of.
A photo masterfully done, my cong.'s.
