The white tower in the middle of the picture is a new luxury condominium building in downtown Toronto. It was competed in 2012, and called Uptown because it is built on land formerly occupied by a famous movie theater called Uptown. The building architectural style is classified as postmodern, but strongly resembles from the distance the skyscrapers built in the 20s and 30s in Art Deco style. It is 48 stories high, but soon will be eclipsed with a 75 stories building under construction behind the blue fence on the left side of the picture. The intersection in the foreground is the center of the city, where the major North-South street meets the major East-West street with subway lines under them.

Bravo, this is a wonderful and architecturally perfect picture. I would image that when this building was conceived, the artists impressions of the final work could not have been as attractive as what you have captured here. As you say, its post modern but it harks back so strongly to the art deco design, and itís a beautiful combination of thoughts and designs to create this gleaming white tower. Probably because we donít have any in Ireland, skyscrapers have always fascinated me. This is a fantastic example, and a fantastic capture. I look forward to seeing the completion of the 75 story behemoth beside it! Will this 75 story one become the tallest in Canada?
All the best
