Photographer's Note

Cabbagetwn, formally known as Don Vale, is a historic neighborhood in Toronto along the west bank of Don river. Here there are many fine examples of Victorian architecture for workers' cottages, middle class homes and residences built for well-to-do Torontonians. This house is located at 156 Winchester Street, and called the Daniel Lamb House. Its facade is restored by the current owner to its original 1877 appearance. Daniel Lamb was a city alderman who is credited for the creation of Toronto's first zoo in 1890.
