Photographer’s Note
In the middle of the shopping mall, he stopped, opened a small book, and looked at it. I did not know what it was, but he was so enwrapped in it that he didn't notice me or anyone else around. I liked the framing by the narrow mirror that allowed me to view him centred within, centred within his world.
I have uploaded the b/w version in the WS.

Hi Sarolta,
You framing and composition are excellent. The idea of rotating your camera is also very good. You have nice colours. That's a great shot.

this is ok.. Probably the D70 can do that... it is a candid moment and you got it right..
but one basic question Sarolta... why did u take this picture ?? it is to capture and show that he is very much intense in his own world.. or is it because you got a very nice light here... another one, why did you include this two mirror within the frame and even both side of the person..??? or is that tilt necessary for the composition of this photograph ..?? sometime it does, it does like i have seen some of the grea tilt photographs from you even..
i have downloaded this photograph, opened in Photoshop and rotated again to make a perfect vertical.. i did not see any diference, actually it did not give me any other meaning which i might have got in tilt... but i did not get really...
probably an experimental photo and u have succeded on that... i dont know what i am taking is right or wrong, i think it is only a personal view... ( sometime i too make some photograph without knowing why !! )

He certainly looks very much within a world within a world within a world - nicely portrayed - reminds me especially of my youngest daughter who would plead to be left in bookshops if we went anywhere with an interesting one - with agreement from the staff we once 'left' her for nearly a whole day in one in Oxford - just coming back to feed and water her as and when appropriate - she could memorise chunks of books word for word in the time it took her to read them as a younger child - quite astounding! She is a poet/writer, filmaker and artist now.
The garishness of this place is well captured in this minimal view but the contrast of styles between him and his environment and the dynamic tilt are what make this for me. Might have been better without the handrail but you've used it well to frame the book - great work!!
best wishes Kev

I can't tell you how many times I've been left in stores because something catches my attention, books mostly, and everything else suddenly doesn't matter. I like the colored walls, the christmas lights and the reflection on the floor, but the white bar in the middle of the frame is a little distracting. But good job on catching the 'lost-in-own-world' phenomenon.

A beautifully graphic image, Sarolta, even though humanity is its central theme--not an easy combination to achieve! The tilt is good, it tells the viewer we are seeing the man only indirectly. The colors surrounding the mirror complement the colors seen in the mirror very well. Outstanding! Regards, Ken.

I disagree with Sandip. Here you have a shot of you stalking this man (you stalker you Sarolta). The tilt gives us a feeling of motion. Like you and the camera are moving. If you run with a video camera on and filming and then watch the recording you will have all sorts of tilts and funny takes and angles. Well, this is like a slice out of such a video..perhaps filmed by a detective or a stalker;)

Hi Sarolta... I can barely type since my fingers are bloated from turkey dinner and left-overs... but i can at least say I like this shot... not everything about it but I like the tilt (love the tilt), the framing is very good, the lighting is great, the colors (red and yellow) are wonderful... but I do not like the handrail in the doorway... yuck... but what can you do?? Not too much. keep on shooting, Hunter.

I feel the tilt has become an integral part of your design statement which is embarrassing for us opoor sots who use it gratuitously on a regular basis, LOL! I love your colors here , two cool bluish/purple slices of bokeh surrounded the clarity of this man in yellow.
Brilliant, I should think it deserves much more enthusiastic approval...
All the best,
Francis

Hi Sarolta.

Hi Sarolta.
Very nice composition. Tilt, yes. But I like in this way.
Also the colours and the subject are good. And I like it.
Thanks for share.

I am not even going to comment on the tilt. I have no expreince with tilt or when to use it, I'll leave it for the masters..you together with Francis. But for my eyes, this works, you have completely captured your idea, caught him in a tight frame completely wrapped up in his thoughts and that little book. The DOF works really well.
