In the heart of the city there is a park on the Rideau River at Billings Bridge. For years the river had been polluted - and then in the 80's the city got serious about cleaning it up.
Now it's a wonderful place for people who appreciate nature. I was checking out the park on an afternoon in the summer of 2000 and this Blue Heron landed about 50 feet away - and just stood there studying me.
I feel privileged that such a place exists in the city.

Hi Mike, A nice shot of the natural position of the Blue Heron. Good use of the shallow DoF. A very well taken picture with sharpness and clarity.

Great wildlife photo. You wouldn't imagine something like this right in the middle of the city. Thanks for showing it...

Hi Mike, This is exactly the sort of shot the zoom can be good for. The bird is sharp and well framed and cropped. Inspiring as this is what i am trying to do, and to date have not achieved. Well done. Murray.
