REPOSTED DUE TO PHOTO ROTATED AND ACTUALLY UPLOAD OF THE PROPER VERSION WITH BETTER WHITE COLOURS.
I didn’t think there would be anyone at the cemetery on such a nasty day, after a while father and son came, stayed for a while, said a prayer, left a branch from a Christmas tree on the grave, the grave that is a resting place for a one day old baby, probably a child of this man, a sibling of the boy, perhaps even his twin brother.
This was a last photo of the day for me, couldn’t take any afterwards, and at least for the time being anything taken on that day before this image just doesn’t matter to me.
Picture taken at the same cemetery as this one, just steps away
PS. I don’t believe I have intruded their privacy, they have pretty much walked into the area I was photographing, just had to turn a bit to include them in the photo, the photo is also taken with zoom extended to the maximum. I had visited the grave after they left (couldn’t help my curiosity), said my own prayers and went home.
Tip: for pictures taken at slow shutter speeds you can set the camera to burst mode, first image maybe blurry, the consecutive once should be better since no pressing of shutter is involved. This picture was taken with zoom fully extended at 1/25.

Well done Peter.
This is a great improvement, to my way of looking at it. No distractions now.

It is indeed, a very sad picture. I like it in general, but i like a certain poetry that i see in it. The snow covers all..but all, with a warm, protective blanket. What does death do? I do see the snow and the six feet of earth as the same thing. Never thought of snow in a sad way before..well...
Not to talk about the sadness of the boy and his father together, in the cemetery.
When i go to visit my grandparents' grave, i never go with my parents or brother...allways with a friend, so i can tell him about what grea men my forefathers were..
Beauty is sad,

Very strong image. The use of BW and hard contrast works very well by adding a certain unconfort to the scene. This look very much a type of documentary photo which I like.

Very nice photo, you have captured a very sad moment indeed, very well enhanced by the monochrome tones and the rough cold weather. Seeing the little boy is a bit heartbreaking. It's a very strong and suggestive picture, it really makes one to contemplate. Very well done Peter!

Lovely image, indeed!
What I like in addition to the theme (subject) is what's going on above their heads - different branches coming from left & right, different colour shades, contrast, snow - drama!

Yes so very sad Peter. the father and son attitudes make them look like statues, forever grieving this lost son & brother? And will the boy actually? You amanged again to have a picture conveying a strong feeling.

This is really a very good capture Peter, I have no doubt that this will be a favorite. the emotion is so strong specially the atmosphere. good job is the B&W....rgds
here my fave photo
I find this so artistic for using B&W and so spontaneous shot where emotion is not controlled or expected.
