Photographer's Note

A large feature in the village of Port Credit in Mississauga, Ontario is the historic lighthouse which was built in the 1800's and is situated on the banks of the Credit River. The lighthouse services as the home of Port Credit Business Association. Its flashing white light is guiding boaters into Credit Village Marina. The original Port Credit lighthouse was in service from 1882 until 1918. Unfortunately, in 1936 the lighthouse was destroyed by fire. The current lighthouse is a replica of the original and was constructed in 1991.
