Photographer's Note
A small example of badlands formation in Caledon, Ontario. The formation is located along the Niagara Escarpment on the south side of Old Base Line Road (between Ontario Highway 10 and Regional Road 12) and features exposed and eroded Queenston Shale, mostly red in colour due to iron oxide deposits. The area was exposed by poor farming practices in the 1930s that led to soil erosion and exposed the underlying shale,

Hello Barnabas,
This is a very interesting landscape, and one that I didn't know existed in Ontario. I like the color of the shale, and the bits of colorful fall foliage that we can see in the distance. Nice presentation, with lots of activity and a beautiful sky.
