RP. I posted this in the Spring last year as a much needed shot of sunshine. Since then I have learned quite a bit about photo editing, so thought I would try some improvement on it. I now know that you don't have to necessarily keep all the petals in the frame and that you can block out some distracting colours.
Not exactly a travel photo, but after a l-o-n-g winter of snow and grey skies, I just had to try out the macro function of my new Canon S30 |

I think you did indeed learn a lot...this shows the shape of the flower without a lot of distracting background. The color is very luminous with nice deep contrasts.
I agree with dyin on the composition of this photo. I have a little trouble with the painted look though - I always like my flowers to look very real, with all the veins in them. This is an interesting presentation though, and indeed, very colorful. Hoping you have a wonderful spring! :o)
