Taken on Awenda beach on Lake Huron on a windy day.
Lake Huron is one of the five freshwater lakes along the USA–Canadian border; Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario; total area 245,000 sq km/94,600 sq mi. Interconnected by a network of canals and rivers, the lakes are navigable by large ships, and they are connected with the Atlantic Ocean via the St Lawrence River and by the St Lawrence Seaway (completed in 1959), which is navigable by medium-sized ocean-going ships.

Physical
The Great Lakes are said to contain 20% of the world’s surface fresh water, and drain a basin of approximately 751,100 sq km/290,000 sq mi." (ref: tiscali.co.uk)

Nice colours. The movement of the water is obvious in this clear view. The rocks are stratigically placed. DOF, clarity is great. Good job.

nice compo of the water! very bright and clear shot of obviously a beautiful place...

nina super beau cette capture de la vague, j'ai presque capture la même...les couleurs sont tres bien rendues...le reflet porte une note de plus a cette photo...l'ecume magnifique..tout bon nina...amicalement BI

Wow, this is beautiful, Nina. THe low POV behind the rocks is very attractive, and IMO, makes this shot. The wavy water surface is well captured and makes a nice contrast with the clear sky. THe teture of the rocks is very interesting, too. Beautiful.

Great moment. I love the rough sea crashing against the rocks and floods them under a small layer of water. The colours are distinctive, but interesting.

Finally I have come back to this shot. It's this photograph that inspired me to make the Great Lakes theme. As soon as I saw it I thought there should be a theme. I love these textures on both the rocks and the water surface. It appears strong and cold and dangerous just like the lakes are. The soft colors with some stronger areas is very beautiful. And that cold, hard, sky is an excellent match for the water. And the breaking wave is so crisp and strong, too. Very nicely composed and timed. It's quite a great shot of the lake.
