The constellation of Ursa Major (the Great Bear in latin) and commonly known as the Big Dipper, is visible throughout the year in most of the northern hemisphere. The 7 bright stars composing this constellation, are at distance ranging from 78 to 100 light years away from us. Photo taken from a campground near Alban on road 69 south of Sudbury.

La constellation de la Grande Ourse (Ursa Major en latin) est visible toute l'année durant dans presque tous l'hémisphère nord. Les 7 brillantes étoiles qui la composent sont situées de 78 à 100 années-lumières de nous. Photo prise d'un camping près de Alban, sur la route 69 au sud de Sudbury.

Hi Pierre,

I love the thumbnail. : ) It is perfect having something just black .. and the image works well ... tough exposure .. nicely composed. nicely fit into the frame. Nicely done.

Bonjour Pierre, quelle bonne idée ! Tu as bien réussi à bien capter la lumière et les couleurs des étoiles. À 30 secondes d'exposition on voit un peu les sphères s'étirer un tout petit peu. Bravo !
