Photographer’s Note

I took this picture on a bleak cold winter day under the grey skies in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. On September 2nd 1998, Swiss Air Flight 111, en route from New York to Geneva, crashed into the ocean about five nautical miles off these shores. All 229 crew and passengers on board the plane perished. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada conducted investigation into this tragic accident and the complete Investigation Report can be found at: http://www.tsb.gc.ca/en/reports/air/1998/a98h0003/a98h0003.asp

Good picture, Marcel. The quiet scene is contrasted with the tragedy contained in your note and the website you cited. Knowing the history of the area, the muted colors of the photo, and the overcast skies add to the sombre tone. Nicely done.
