| Just past Advocate Harbor, heading east towards Parrsboro, watch for a small sign for Cape d'Or. Follow a gravel/dirt trail for a few miles to a lookout where the Bay of Fundy meets the Minas Channel and you'll find this scenic lighthouse. Wtih billions of gallons of water moving in and out of the Minas Basin twice a day, if you're lucky (we were) you'll see the "Dory Rips" -- a wall of water moving like a wave front as water flowing out of the basin meets water flowing in from the bay. There's a cafe at the lighthouse, but you've got to walk down (and then up again) a very steep, rutted dirt trail to get there and back. |
