Photographer’s Note
This was the last picture ever taken of this delicious lobster while he was alive. To kill lobsters, you have to put them in a pot of boiling water. Apparently it kills them in about 1 or 2 seconds - which made me feel less squeemish when actually doing it. There is not much meat in lobsters, but the bit of meat that you can find through cracking and poking is delicious when dipped in butter. Lobsters are mostly brown-black when alive, but then turn bright red when cooked.
Just cropped and tinted a little red from the original.

Unbelievably vivid, just such a good photo. The colours jump out at you & that's one of the first things that matter to me when I look at a pic. At least this poor critter has left his mark on the Earth.

this looks very unappealing. but i'm sure it was delicious! well done, nice depth of field. great colors and clarity!
